Professional Background I am a primary school teacher with over 20 years teaching experience in an Educate Together national school. I have a special interest in literacy, and am passionate about supporting children with social and emotional needs. I hold an AP1 post of responsibility, and have been the SEN Co-Ordinator in my school for the past 5 years., I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Special Educational Needs in MIC in 2021, and went on to research the impact of the Nurture approach in a DEIS Band 1 primary school. I am a trained Nurture Practitioner, and was involved in the Nurturing Schools Whole School Nurture Programme in 2022. I have also trained in Trauma Informed Practice, and recently completed a certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills with the Children’s Therapy Centre.
